Baba Is You is an original puzzle game, authored by independent Finnish developer ARVI “Hempuli” Teikari. The prototype in 2017 became the winner of Nordic Game Jam.
Baba Is You PC Game Download – Review
Baba Is You stands out from other representatives of the genre due to the fact that the player can manipulate the rules that govern the gameplay. The game consists of a hundred levels, which are puzzles with increasing difficulty, each accompanied by unique restrictions described by simple verbal messages; we can change them to affect how we interact with objects or even completely change the goal, the implementation of which is necessary to access the next stage.
For example, setting side by side the eponymous words baba is you allows us to control the main character, which we see from the point of view from top to bottom; however, if we change this message on a rock is you, we will take control of the stone that you see on the screen. Another example is the walls through which we can penetrate if we separate the words walls. It is worth mentioning that the author offers us an editor, thanks to which we can create our own puzzles or even entire campaigns.
Baba is You has a very simple, two-dimensional template used. However, it is transparent enough that players can find in the tasks assigned to them by the developer and understand the principles that are controlled.
